Local Lifestyle

Lake Oswego is the home of a 405-acre lake just outside of Downtown Portland. The area features riverfront parks, art galleries, putting performing arts in the spotlight. From historic pioneer cemeteries to spending the day out on the lake, you'll never run out of things to do.

This Oregon city blends the friendliness of small-town culture with a vacation-style setting. As you explore Lake Oswego, you'll notice that the community offers a mixture of active lifestyles and a laid-back environment. There are plenty of things to do in the area, and much of downtown chases after the foodie's heart with a unique selection of restaurants, bars, and boutiques for your fill of R&R.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Shining light on history is quite popular in Lake Oswego, so much so that even the restaurants try to pay their respect. For example, Lake Oswego Ice Creamery & Restaurant originally opened in 1985 in a 90-year-old building that was once the home of the Oswego State Bank. Now the retro-style diner is a neighborhood staple when you're craving a fresh burger, homemade ice cream, or other hometown favorites.

Established in 1924, the Oswego Lake Country Club is your all-inclusive, private golf and social club. The club is members-only and a summer hotspot for its pools, snack bars, and fine dining. Many members indulge in the benefits of seclusion out on the 18-hole golf course, and families often use the property to host their big day when it comes to needing a picture-perfect setting for a wedding.

Tucci is one of the most luxurious places to dine in Lake Oswego. The Italian restaurant offers a carefully curated menu with delicious contemporary bites. Making a reservation before visiting can be beneficial since the restaurant is only open for a few hours each day and can often get crowded quickly.

Things to Do

Spending quality time together has never been easier for local events like the Harvest Dash. This 5k trail run is a Lake Oswego favorite, and the entire community comes out to the Luscher Farm to enjoy the event. You don't have to be the faster runner or an athletic superstar to take part, and afterward, you can join in all the fun at the barn bash.

Start your morning off at the Farmers’ Market before joining in on the festivities of the annual Lake Oswego Wine Walk. The local favorite event allows you to explore Downtown Lake Oswego while interacting with vendors and indulging in 12 one oz pours. Get to know the friendly faces behind 40+ local businesses and take advantage of great deals while you're at it.

Take in the prettiest views at George Rogers Park, Lake Oswego's first official community park. The 26-acre public park is great for watching a baseball or soccer game, exploring the hiking trails, or planning a picnic on a sunny day. There's also a memorial garden and a multitude of historical landmarks, such as the "Iron Furnace," that you can check out.
