Keizer is a small city located in the County of Marion and about four miles from Salem, Oregon's capital. It lies in the Willamette Valley, along the 45th parallel, and is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. Originally named after Pioneer Thomas Done Keizur and his family, who arrived on the Wagon Train in 1843, Keizer offers numerous recreation facilities and attracts visitors from all over for its cuisines, family-fun activities, and outdoor access.
With a population of around 40,000, Keizer is widely known as the "Iris Capital of the World" and is famous for hosting KeizerFest, a festival celebrating thousands of Irises annually.
